Hello. I signed up a few weeks ago and been doing some lurking and finally decided to make my into post. My names Nick, I'm from Wisconsin (Milwaukee area) And my Fiance's name is Liz she is going to be trading in her 2009 Toyota Corolla S in for a 2010 + Toyota Prius looking for a IV or a V. Together we own an upstart performance parts shop called Axis Racing we also do custom stickers and apparel. I'm sure we will be doing a few little things to the Prius like we did to the Corolla but nothing too major....atleast as of right now. LOL. We also have another toy, which is a 1989 Nissan 240sx XE with a Toyota Supra 2JZ-GTE engine swap the car currently makes 400+RWHP on 14psi hoping to up the boost still this fall to the 19-20psi area and see what it will do. Here are some pictures of what will be the old corolla, and the 240sx.
Sweet - can't wait to see what you do with the Prius - I"m looking for a 2010+ Prius myself - I may add some larger wheels to give it a discreet, performance look.
Sweet be careful adding bigger/racing type wheels etc. It will affect your mileage/ride etc. (ours dropped about 8 mpg's), reset and put the originals tires back on. Read this link from Priuschat, it will give you some info on what to expect. Thank you all! As far as doing anything to the Prius, it will be little stuff, Basic suspension Weather it's H&R Springs or maybe even a coilover setup, Not sure what wheels (if any) will go on anytime soon, If i can't find a 5 trim, maybe i'll look for those take offs, or the CT200H wheels. Or keep an eye out for something used or the ever popular RPF1. Thanks for the link on the wheels/tires. I know how it will effect the ride quality, which is why i'm half debating on doing some aftermarket 15-16" wheels as long as the weights down.
Flick, my son did the wheel/tire conversion on his 2011 three. He wanted to bigger wheel/tire race look. His mpg's dropped off about 8-10 mpg's., you could really hear the road noise, and Tire dealer told him if Toyota found out about the tire/wheel change, it would affect the warranty on his wheel bearings, etc. So he sold his new tires/wheels on CL, and bought original tires some newbie wanted to get rid of after their conversion. Go figure.
