I am currently planning to move from my Highlander 2001 I4 to Prius 05/06. I've never experienced with the hybrid system before and the reason to swap from HL is because of billing on fuel is too much as I am driving a lot in the city. Since I am new to this system, please kindly advise me on the below concerns: 1. If one of any batteries died, will the car still working? 2. I sometime have long distant drive (8h+) and uphill (~40Km), is this fine for the Prius? 3. What is the most reliable speed once I am on highway? 4. I was told that this Prius comes with few different editions: normal one without smart key, with smart key, full option with smart key+Bluetooth+..., is that true? 5. Since my targets Prius (05/06) is a bit old, what should I mainly focus on once I am in the market for it? 6. Is the computer software for this Prius upgradable? Thank, sanlen
1. If one of any batteries died, will the car still working? No. Both batteries are needed to start the car. 2. I sometime have long distant drive (8h+) and uphill (~40Km), is this fine for the Prius? Yes. The longer you drive, the better the mileage is. Hills lower mileage, but not as much as other vehicles. 6. Is the computer software for this Prius upgradable? No. (There may have been an upgrade for 2004 and early 2005)
is it hot there? an old prius in a hot climate may be in danger of needing a new hybrid battery at some point.
