He's a smart man. I liked him for bringing Nissan back into the black (although that did cause some issue with redesigning the cars cause they were all introduced at the same time). I lost some respect when he said hybrids weren't a viable business option but I have regained that for he has set a long term goal and is pushing for it.
Well they don't do Nissan hybrids here in Europe but I guess they're jumping straight to EV. I agree with you that he is an intelligent man but I am not so sure about how Nissan is going over here. Yes, they're back in the black but their European car range is just plain odd (well to me anyway). Nissan cars, vans, fleet and services
Well their Nissan Altima hybrid (the only hybrid) uses Toyota's hybrid system. You'll never find it in the showroom or advertised. I've only seen 2 on the road (one canadian registered, one US registered).
This is great. The only thing I disagree with is his statement that Nissan is the only company going electric. He's missing Tesla, which is small now but growing, and in the high-end market now, but working towards the lower-end market. However, what matters is not that, but the fact that he is committed to electric, and seems to be the only major manufacturer going in that direction.
