Young white sharks were once regularly caught off of New Jersey. One is still the most likely culprit in the 1916 attacks.

Those are interesting numbers, too bad they aren't in the form of fatalities per man hours of potential exposure instead of raw totals. I would expect sharks to move ahead of most other critters on the list if the list were based on fatalities per man hour of exposure. If we got rid of those nasty things the world would be a better place.
