Source: The battery report is on the web: The Lumafield Battery Quality Report This goes a long way to explain the risks and variable performance found in "Project Farm:" Bob Wilson
I'd be willing to bet that there's a huge number of battery cells thrown out in the manufacturing process... Building perfect cells ain't easy...
Scrap is common enough and leads to diagnosis and improvement. Get it low enough and you make a profit and stay in business. Bob Wilson
Not sure what I am looking at with this report. It looks like the low cost and counterfeight to worse quality control. I would guess there is high scrap in intital production especially on new chemistries. As it gets dialed in, as it is with the mainstream manufacturers the batteries are probably more expensive than the low quality ones, but higher profit for the companies and better owner satisfaction of devices. Really the rechargable batteries in my dog toys I look low cost. In my car I want to pay more as it will last for years instead of destroyed in months. I do recycle the destroyed dog toys that are electronic but who knows what they do with them.
