I’ll never understand why when there are options that the choice was the down wind option. Then to not have the water ready on approach. Definitely some retraining in order.
at that point, would it be better to just let it burn itself out? or at least shoot the extinguishing material from a truck at a safe distance? at least no one was hurt
There’s always multiple ways to approach the situation, but from down wind and not ready to roll seems the worst of all options .
I was impressed with how casually he walked over and picked up his helmet. Probably surprised it blew up in his face, but didn't seem to be injured. Kudos to designers of fire equipment!
Had a gassing pickup truck catch fire at a middle bay of my local Walmart's gas station. 3 days later you can still see the burn marks on the concrete, the melted 16 high roof and about 6 bays are still shut down. No reports of why. No injuries and truck totaled. Amazingly the bays to either side and even in front of where the fire was are operating normally. Only result is long lines for a pump.
But a Tesla is dangerous because the battery can catch fire! Don't interrupt my "shorting Tesla stock" narrative!
That's why they DIDN'T let it burn out. There were bystanders who could potentially have been hurt or killed. Didn't you notice the line of rubberneckers driving by?.. ...Then again, there are those who would say: "Rubbernecker?.. ...Killed?.. ...Wouldn't that be a GOOD thing? At least it would get some of them off the roads so they could no longer endanger others." Just saying.
The cost for such was probably deemed noneffective. The walls were probably cheap, but deploying them likely required more people, and maybe another car per scene.
i bet you're right. it was poly an experiment, and people kept gawking anyway. in fact, curiosity might increase when you try to hide something
I think research showed they worked to decrease gaper delay. The ones I've seen were over six feet tall. So not a quick install, and peoplepower setting them up is peoplepower not helping victims or clear the scene.
interesting.i wonder what they thought the first time they set them up. wouldn't take long to figure that out.
