Hello. My 12v battery died couple of days ago and I replaced it with this one (first picture). I don't think it's AGM battery. In the description it says the technology is "СА/СА" (calcium car battery?? I don't know). My last one was also CA/CA (second picture) and it lasted for 3-4 years. Did I buy wrong type of battery (probably yes) and should I replace it?
You'd like AGM but I wouldn't worry bout it. If it's inexpensive you looking the UB series batteries industrial type things that go in alarms fork trucks etc. Our size about 75 bux.
Theoretically less safe than a true AGM, but will probably work ok. Is it a Group 51 size? As Tombukt2 notes, you can buy a general-purpose "universal" true AGM that will also work fine for $75 or so. Needs minor work to adapt.
Thanks for your replies. I’m pretty sure none of them are AGM type batteries. I was just wandering if it’s okay to have this one for couple of years before it dies and it’s not somehow damaging the car or is dangerous, because my vent tube is kinda floating around as it has nowhere to plug it in. My car has big rear right side air vent for that purpose I suppose… amazon description says: Product details Brand Varta Vehicle service type Boot Voltage 12 Volts Item dimensions L x W x H 23.8 x 22.7 x 12.9 centimetres Number of cells 6 Battery boat Varta Blue Dynamic B31 Designed for performance and reliability Powerframe technology slatted frame 12 V, 45 Ah For it’s specifications local store says this:
In a wreck, especially if your car overturns, there's a risk that battery could spill acid in the interior. Is that risk high enough for you to worry about? Toyota was cautious about that possibility, for legal reasons.
