Since he can't drive till he gets out of office, maybe the next 5yrs he can save up and pay cash for one. Out of my price range.
this dealer selling them for $36,999 Chevrolet : Volt Chevrolet : Volt | eBay i paid less than that for mine.
Hmm... I can see that quote being used against him in the election. "Let's Put Obama Behind The Wheel of Chevy Volt!".... No political stance here....but that quote get's you applause in a Chevy Plant....but can easily be used against you later.....
"Ever since Barack Obama became president in 2008, ...If his presidency extends to a second term, it will be 2016 before the Obama family looks for its next car. " The author must be using a different calendar than I have, offset by a year.
OK well if he still lives in Chicagoland we now know the power plant (Enviro Thread) supplying the juice.
Hoping to see him tooling around next year in it. Hey it's good for 4 people, has plenty of charging stations. If he puts offices downtown (you know ex presidents have offices .. well, clinton did at least...).. So maybe he can get one in 2013... May still be able to get one with a rebate...
The least he could do, especially if GM's stock is still in deficit mode concerning their bailout for being crappy, arrogant corporate "geniuses". Nothing like a complete do over with no consequences (except the unemployed Pontiac/Olds workers) at the taxpayers expense. Looks like 4 more years though, the Red team is too busy wooing the bible belt rather than emphasizing what an empty shirt Obama is.
No doubt, a ton of destroyed retirements and lives in the wake, except for the people who mismanaged the mess in the first place, they get mega severance packages. I'm so confused, Obama doubled W's deficit and his "solution" is to tax the rich? The next recession will come faster and be deeper and longer than ever, the budget at that time won't support another round of panic hand outs.
Some walks are longer than others...aren't they? Just Sayin'..... Actually, I caught a squib about the story on the news. If he wants to be a Voltaic, more power to him. It's a better choice than some up-armored Suburban, or a VC-25. In some forums the Volt is actually considered to be a fairly "green" vehicle. It'll be interesting to see if he gets to buy a 2013.
Please join with me and other people of intelligence and conscience to to help him to realize this historic opportunity.
Actually....THAT is politickin. OK......so on this site, the lady with the blindfold and scales kinda peeks a little every now and then. Her scales are a little off too...however (comma!) there's a sub-forum called FHOP_P that you can use to vent your spleen about our elected officials. Libs don't really have a fully developed sense of humor. That gentle reminder from the mod was intended to remind us that this is a Volt bash....(*!*) oops....I mean a Volt discussion forum. Some Kool-Aid drinker sees the above post, and they're going to be on the "report &^%$! post" button like a hobo on a ham sandwich!! I'm not trying to be a mod without portfolio, but if we want to start comparing and contrasting the effectiveness of my beloved CinC, then we should probably take it to the pancake house. The Volt is what it is....regardless of the notoriety of its pilot. Besides.....he was pandering to Union workers. I have a better chance of getting to be a Vice Admiral than he does of actually buying and driving a Volt on a regular basis. He was playing to his audience. Personally? I see him in an Escalade Hybrid. JMO...
