Installed an Ohmmu Sodium Ion 12v battery yesterday...perfect fit and weighs 1/3 of the original one. I notice though, it's doing what the stock battery was doing before I changed it. Going from 13.5-14v parked or idling along and then after several mins of driving on the highway it creeps down to 12.5-12.9 then back up again when parked. Is that normal? There should be nothing draining it while driving (unless it IS my ABS pump cycling more than normal from my other thread). Anyone with electrical knowledge please feel free to give your advice or experience.

Sounds normal. I have a USB dongle I plug in to the 12V convenience socket that reads out voltage. When it is in use charging something, it switches back and forth indicating voltage or charging amperage. It refreshes quick enough when making the Prius ready (starting) to show the voltage drop before the inverter/converter kicks in. That number will tell me if I need to hook up the conditioner. If the car has sat for a while, which it is likely to do now that I'm retired, the voltage will read 14.0V for a couple of miles and then drop down to oscillating between 12.9 and 13.9V. To my knowledge, the 12V battery is only there to boot all the computers when starting, and, if need be, to smooth out or ballast the voltage for the rest of the vehicle electronics during operation.

What was the price on that newfangled battery?

$379, and believe me if it doesn't live up to it's claims I will be vocal about it.
