While running some errands with my wife the other day she made a comment like "One thing I don't like about this car (my C4) is that the turn signal indicators don't make any noise when they're on". I said "You're joking, right? Even I can hear the clicking." Interestingly enough, my 27 yr. old daughter made a similar comment when I was driving her somewhere a week or so ago. Well, the funny thing is that I'm finally starting to admit to myself that I'm losing my hearing. Everyone else around me has been aware of it for a while and puts up with my constantly asking them to repeat things. And yes, I should do something about it. But that's a story for another time. While I do have a tough time hearing the turn signal indicators in pretty much any other vehicle I drive, I can hear them fine in this Prius. And yet people who don't have hearing issues can't seem to hear them. Or certainly don;t hear them as easily as I do. It can't really be a frequency kind of thing, because it's not as if it's a high pitched sound. It's just sort of a clicking sound. Just curious as to whether anyone else has had a similar experience.
in all seriousness, i can't hear, and i can't hear the flasher in my prius or hycam. my wife can hear a mouse on the floor, and the flashers. when we're in the car together, i try really hard to remember, so i won't get the 'your flasher is on'.
Maybe they're not wearing their seatbelts? While that beep is engaged, you will not hear indicator usage (seems they both use the same speaker/circuit).
Wow. I've never heard of such a thing. But it's irrelevant anyway, as everyone always buckles up. Interesting thought, though.
