    Hey guys,

Anyone ever encountered an issue in the Gen 2(2008), stuttering sound and/or rattle, car starts but doesn't drive, red triangle comes ON. Video on Facebook. I will post the link when I'm allowed.

I was driving it on a hot day(~35°c), made a left turn and all of a sudden heard the stuttering/rattling sound and the RED triangle came ON. Haven't been able to drive it since. 12V battery is completely drained and the OBD2 throws all hybrid battery codes. Car is sitting on 314,000 km.

    Codes:
    P0A90
    P0A80
    P3000

The engine light came ON and OFF before then but it was the fuel system, issue was when it had full tank of gas, engine light would go OFF, after half it will come back ON, probably something to do with the pressure sensor in the gas tank as usually it wouldn't let me fill more than 30 litres of gas.

I'm told the sound is being made by the transaxle damper assembly but I'm also told that on Gen 2, it rarely goes bad, so I'm guessing something is causing it to rattle/stutter?

Any comments, recommendations and suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks.

Yes apparently your HV battery is falling on its face It's probably original?

So, P0A80 is fairly straight forward, look at your freezeframe data or monitor battery block voltages while (trying to) accelerate- see if any one block is 1.0-1.5V lower that the others under discharge. That's the typical pack failure mode.

The P0A90 - that's drive motor "A" performance. It would really help to have the INF subcode for this (there are 9 different INF's). That might narrow down what you would have to test - could be a motor in the transmission, wiring, inverter, ecu, or the ICE.

If your scantool isn't capable of getting freezeframe or INF codes, here's a thread that reviews some apps and devices that are.
