What cause HV battery bar drop on Parking Mode? No Radio/CD or music on No A/C or fan on No head light or daylight on. Only Screen on and Display on. New 12v battery and 12.4 - 12.6v. My car in Parking mode for 12-15 mins at Gas station for snack with physical key door locked. Come out and the engine on and i see HV battery only 2 bars left. This is 3 times now. don't know what drain the HV Battery?
Turn the car OFF when you go inside. You risk the car being stolen. And your insurance company may not pay since you left the vehicle running. Plus, the car IS running. The inverter is running, the inverter coolant pump is running, it's charging the 12 volt battery and it's running all the computers. That's why it drains.
I agree with ASR. Besides what he mentioned, there is power required to hold various relays in position such as the one that connects your traction battery to the rest of the car. All those loads come from the 12v battery which gets charged by the traction battery. And then there's how easy it would be for someone to steal your car and insurance not cover it. I see lots of people do that stuff at gas stations and it almost makes me think I'm in the wrong line of work.
how many bars did it drop? how many miles on her? there is some electricity being used when the car is 'ready', but minimal enough, that depending on your answers, might lead to a possibility of a weak hybrid battery. 'ready', with the car in park. there is no such thing as parking mode. that terminology is confusing.
