This is "normal" for Pearl S so not a problem, but I've not heard anyone comment on it. The car is warming up, and above 50C coolant temp. I'm getting close to home (2 km trip), on the neighborhood side streets at 20-40 km/hr. Sometimes the engine is running, sometimes not (already shut off). If running, to get it to shut off I have to apply high throttle for 2 secs. or so then release. Then it shuts off right away. If I don't it may not shut off until I stop to open my garage door a minute later. I've not read anyone commenting on this "high throttle for a few seconds to get it to shut off" operation. Do the rest of you see this? I find it a bit curious.
I sometimes notice something of this sort, but only in the 42-46 MPH range, not down in the speed range you mention.
Battery is usually at 60% on the display or higher. Today it was at 40% and worked the same. I walk the nearby mall in the morning, starting at about 6:30. It's 2.1 km away. After about 30 min. I drive home. This is when I notice this.
Short trips with a cold engine drains my battery fast and ICE will run alot. That's just been my experience. My car never runs exactly the same way everyday. And, I don't drive exactly the same way every day either. But I have noticed, the colder the weather and shorter the trip, the computer tries to compensate and run as efficiently as possible.
Well not gunning it but many times if the engine is just idling or just above idling to produce power and I know it can be off if it was warmer, I would sometimes try to induce engine shut off by just a quick stab at the throttle to briefly raise the rpm and then lift off the accelerator (P&G). Sometimes it does turn off, other times it doesn't. I haven't really kept track of when it does or doesn't. I just try it and if it works, it works lol.
