As I was backing up my 2008 toyota prius, I scraped the right side mirror against the wall of my garage. The incident removed a large amount of paint from the mirror cover. I want to replace the cover. I ordered it from toyota. The question is how involved is it to change the cover? Can anyone direct me to a DIY site that might show me how to take it off without damanging anything. I love my car, and it breaks my heart to see scratches or anything like that on my car. You can pry the mirror glass out from the bottom and then the top, disconnect the heater wires, and remove the cover by pushing out the clips from the inside. It's pretty easy once you try it.
