Ok. So I am helping a family member put an engine in his 2012 Prius.

We got it all mounted up, and apparently something is wrong.

Basically, it won't go into park. It doesn't appear to be false failure, as when I jack the front end up I can spin the axles.

Initially, we thought it was a battery issue, his old one had been iffy.

    1) So I put a brand new AGM battery in the car, it was reading 12.7v. no luck.

    2) Started messing with connectors trying to find something that stands out as an issue, but I haven't found anything yet.

    3) tried shaking the car

While Messing around, the battery voltage crept down,

    4) So I tried jumping the car, the issue persisted

    No DTCs were available.

    5) but I tried resetting the DTCs anyway

    6) put it in maintenance mode. It ran the pump, so I at least got to bleed the inverter coolant...

I currently have the car up in the air, looking for anything that may cause issues. I am able to turn the tires, and the one on the otherside will spin backwards.

Currently I have the battery on the charger, so that it can have a full charge before Messing with it again.

Anything you guys can come up with would be awesome. I have spent so long on this error already.

Is there a way to manually lock the trans?

Also, I filled the transaxle with the Toyota WS fluid from the dealer. But what I drained out looked and smelled like gear oil.

I have a few pictures of the dash, and of the dr prius app. The dr prius screenshots were taken while trying to jump the car.

I am dense. I missed a connection. And looked right at it multiple times. It's running now. Started a little rough, but overall seems pretty good.

Got an engine with less than 60k miles, new mounts, a tune up, fresh fluids and a new floor jack and engine hoist leveler for under $2k and a weekend and a few evenings. Not terribly
