I have a 2005 Prius and my 10 year warranty was about to be up so I took it in so I can avail of the warranty. Also my fluids were filled. The part was changed with no charge but the Service assistant stated that the prius of these year had a 15 year warranty on the part. I thought that was really nice and I had to share.

California rules on taking care of their people and require longer warranties on some hybrid related parts.

Service writer is probably confusing the numbers. The longest warranty the Prius has is 10years/150,000 miles. This warranty is on the HV Battery and related components, and some emission components.

The Gen2 Prius has no warranty going 15years.

As for the 3-way coolant control valve that was replaced under warranty for you, just be happy. Some Prius Chat members in California were unsuccessful in getting the part covered under warranty.
