P3190 code "Poor Engine Power" after replacing timming chain

    Hi everyone,

    I replaced the timing chain on my 2008 Prius this weekend because I was getting the P0016 Crankshaft Position/Camshaft Position error. After reading the manual, I decided to replace it. With 300,000 km on the odometer, it seemed like the right time to do it before encountering any other issues.

    Everything went smoothly, but I couldn't start the car again after replacing the timing chain, and now I'm getting the P3190 code for "Poor Engine Power."

    I believe I made a mistake while aligning the cam sprocket/pulley with the crankshaft. If I did indeed mess up the synchronization between them, what would be the best way to adjust it?

    After replacing the timing chain, everything was aligned with the marks, and I was able to move the crank without any friction between the pistons and the valves.

    What I did so far?
    • The mass air flow sensor is working well (as it was before the change).
    • The fuel injection system is working well (as it was before the change).
    • The crankshaft sensor is working well (as it was before the change).
    • The hybrid battery was discharged after multiple unsuccessful attempts to start the car, but I was able to recharge it with my external power supply.

    Seems to me if your timing is off you're having this code I would think the freeze frame data will show some alarming timing numbers whatever that would be I don't really know but I'm sure it's something that's searchable as far as the numbers to be looking for they even be lit up in Orange who knows if you have that Toyota software however you get it then any good scanner bi directional type of thing should be able to talk with the Prius and get you everything you need to get including some freeze frame data which if there was a serious timing problem I imagine that might show up.
