I have a 2006 Toyota Prius and it threw the P3190 Code and the P0A0F Engine Failed to Start along with Hybrid Battery code and the car would not function. The mechanic ran all the test for mass air flow on the P3190 code and the engine is fine. He cleared all the codes and the car started right up. He ran it for 50 minutes and then test drove it for 2-15 min drives. No codes have reappeared. The Mechanic is saying that the hybrid battery would throw those codes of P3190 and P0A0F and my hybrid battery warranty company said that the battery would not set off those codes but something else would.

Does anyone have any ideas of why just a reset would have the car work fine and what would throw those codes?

3190 is poor engine performance I think and the other engine failed to start. Usually wen this happens the engines spinning over but not firing up and running or running very badly if it does for a few seconds . You treat this as a no start condition like a gas car we have all those gas car parts except the starter.

The P3190 and P0A0F codes are not caused by the hybrid battery. They are caused by the engine not working properly.

This seems to be a continuation of the same problem that you created a thread for on November 25 of this year, https://priuschat.com/index.php?posts/3581641

All other maintenance are good ? like spark plugs, clean MAF sensor, good air filter, fuel injector not clogged, fuel pressure is fine etc.

When it runs, no CEL and engine is producing good power?

That's wonderful so then you will need the whole workup for the two codes probably about 28 pages of material it is extensive . You will need paper pen and paper. You'll be dealing with lots of processes and yes and no that you need keep up with
