I really appreciate the posters here. I'm shopping for a package#3 and when I try to see what other people paid the most popular packages are 2, 5 & 6. Are there any drawbacks to pack#3? I'm not looking for NAV, HID lights or leather.
I bought #3. I did not want Navigation. I did want bluetooth and upgraded stereo. I got the mats with it. I am not sure what #4 gives you. I do want to add leather in the future. I paid $23,000 with trade, plus sales tax, tag, and dealer doc fee. I tried a lot of dealers and ended up back at the first dealer.
Package 4 gives you the HID headlights and the Auto Dimming Mirror (with Homelink). At the time I didn't think the difference was worth it, but I wouldn't trade the auto dimming mirror for the world now! Personally I think package three or four are the best packages for the money. The nav is not really worth an extra 2k when you can add an aftermarket unit if you need it for much less. Sure its nice to have it all integrated, but I think its too much for what it is. Then again they have some nice package deals going on right now so you can get a 5 or 6 for much less...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Darken @ May 17 2007, 01:49 PM) </div> Actually package 3 gave us the auto-dimming mirror with homelink as well.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(priusmaybe @ May 17 2007, 03:35 PM) </div> I wish I had a garage too! I didn't know package 3 had the mirror (sorry for the wrong info) I know there was a couple of diferences between the two, but my dealer said package 3 was uncommon, which may be true as its not even listed on the Toyota website currently.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(GottaGetOne @ May 17 2007, 12:49 PM) </div> If you don't want the options, why pay for them? If a package 3 fits your needs then look for one. Toyotas are imported and sold by region. Some (maybe all?) regions don't import every option package. If you can't find it locally you may have to go to another state in a different region to find one. Happy hunting.
Thanks for the replies. Turns out in the Southern California region other than the base vehicle they offer packages 2, 5 & 6. My dealer had a package 4 taken out of Oregon, but not in the color I wanted. :-(
If you don't want leather or nav. Package # 3 is what you want. I just got my 07 Touring Prius with package #3 because I didn't want leather or Nav, what comes with package 3 for the Touring edition is great.
Colorado doesn't seem to get Package 3 for some reason. $2000 extra for a Bluetooth speaker and mic and a slightly better, but still mediocre stereo seems a bit much, IMHO.
