I was washing my silver Prius and noticed several small paint chips on the most sloping front part of the hood. It looks like rock damage. The paint is gone all the way down to the black primer. I have never in all my years owning a car had this happen before. It looks like Toyota is skimping on paint. Is there a protector available to prevent more of this? Anybody with similar problems on the '04 models?
I have seen the same thing in my white Prius, but I've also seen it in my previous cars, including the 2002 VW Golf that I traded for the Prius.
