I've had my '05 for just over a week, and last night driving down the country road to my parents and turned into their drive way, I went to switch my lights to just the parking lights as to not light up the whole house, and they didn't come on. No matter what I do, I can't get them to turn on. I went into the diagnostic menu and all I got was 01-D5 190-36-C under EMV. Any help on this would be appreciated, I haven't found anything online. they work when the turn signal is turned on, and hazards... but not when the light selector is switched on.
Do you have a #6 with the fog lights? Are you talking about those? They won't come on unless the main lights are on low beam. If you're talking about the other lights they worked on mine.
It's not the side lights, those work. It's the Parking Lights, the amber bulbs above the normal headlights. All other lights work. The 'parking lights' flash with the turn signal properly, so the bulbs are good. I'm curioius if it's a fuse or something else. I don't know of the above posted error code is related, but it wouldn't let me clear it. I've tried it in "Ready" and drive, revers, etc. Thank you for help.
Ohhhhh lol... okok I get it. No, those lights are ONLY for the indicators. Our front parking lights are tiny little bulbs to the side of the indicators.
You've got to be joking... can't see a thing with them.... But I did notice the Prius has the brightest turnn signals I think I've ever seen on a car. Anyone know about the above posted error code?
Er, "parking lights" are for people to see you, not the other way round... If you're confused, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_lighting
Thanks for all the help with the lights... I guess I was used to my Jeep, which the parking lights illuminated about 3 feet infront of the vehicle, and was great for not blinding ppl in houses and apartments at night. Oh well... Wonder how hard it would be to wire those nice bright turn lights into the 'parking light' switch.
Well, I assumed your Jeep also used them as indicators hence the brightness. It should be to hard to rewire. I know someone here said they've made those indicators as DRLs.
I beg to disagree with the small bulb reply. My parking lights worked fine for 90k miles and now I have the exact same problem as Cedric. If I turn my head lights off at night back to parking lights, I have nothing in front. The rear lights work and the turn signals as well, front and back. I have no other little bulbs in my head light bucket. The bulbs are single filament and work fine as flashers and such bt no parking lights. I'm going to pull fuses and check continuity to see what controls that function.
