Yikes... I don't think it is a good idea mainly for maneuverability. In NYC you get 2, 3, or even 4 busses all driving back to back down the same route at the same time. And 5-10 minutes later, another 2-4 busses comes along. Because they are independent, they can load faster and cut in and out of traffic which is a nightmare. A gigantic bus like that is going to take out something trying to cut back into traffic.
