Phonebook Wiped. Not sure why... or how.

Does anyone know why my phonebook would be wiped but the pairing is still there? I noticed that my Contacts button was blanked out in the Phone menu (and by nature, so is the Speed Dials). However, my phone still paired automatically (both handsfree bluetooth and bluetooth audio). I didn't think you could wipe out the entire book without removing the bluetooth pairing between the phone and the car from the system.
