Today I was able to inspect and test drive the Prius Prime at the OC auto show. Here are some pics of one of the floor cars:
The car was very smooth to drive with a great feel. I was surprised with the visibility out of the back window even with the divide. The power from the pure battery drive was a pleasant surprise. The large screen was very easy on the eyes however navigating it between the menus could take some time to get use to. The two tone interior was very appealing, an option I did not consider from viewing only from photos.
Also did a test drive yesterday. Ride was much smoother than my 2012 plugin, but the driving route had no bumps or potholes. Very nice.
Very true, it was all on smooth streets. Very well planned route with no complications. However on one of the straight aways I did open up the car a little when in battery mode and loved the power of the acceleration. The Toyota representative was surprised when I did it.
I'm going to the OC show on Sunday. Are the Primes all charged up when ready to drive? All the people before me will probably deplete the battery. I'll have to arrive early.
I saw them have a charger close by. They only had two the day I went for the test drives. I recommend you go early and make it your first stop, the wait can be long for the test drives.
