We picked up our 2010 IV with NAV last night. Overall the purchasing process has been quite positive, thanks in large measure to what we have learned from all of you here at PriusChat. You all helped my wife and I to become informed buyers. Although the first dealer we contacted insisted there was a $430 dealer add-on package, the second dealer claimed there was a $1,600 market adjustment and the third dealer stated up front that there were no add-ons and they were selling at MSRP, with no market adjustments. Through this process we had contacted 5 dealers via the internet and heard back from 4. We wanted to see the Sandy Beach Metallic color, with Bisque interior before making our final decision. The first dealer had none scheduled to arrive and finally said that the first vehicle, that they would receive, with that color would be ours. The third dealer took note of our color request and called us two days after our initial contact stating that he had our vehicle in the color that we wanted coming off the truck as he was speaking to us, but the price was higher than orginally quoted. After he told me what the price was going to be, I quickly discovered that he had the Prius V and not the IV that we wanted. However, this provided the opportunity to see the color combination. So we went to the dealership and confirmed that this was the color that we wanted. While we were at the dealership, the saleman said he would check the allocation of Prius' sheduled for arrival. He came back in 10 minutes and said there is one coming in that was exactly what we wanted, in our color, available and if we wanted it with a $1,000 fully refundable deposit he would "grab it," and get for us. The Prius was due into the port the following week. The vehicle arrived in port on 6-17-09 and was ready for us to pick up yesterday 6-26-09. The price was as the salesman originally stated, with no surprises. The salesman stated that this was the first 2010 Prius, with NAV, that the dealership had received. So contrary to what I have read of other's experiences with salesman, ours worked to earn and get our business and thanks to his initiative, we have our Prius today. When we picked up our Prius last evening, our salesman said we are fortunate because if we were looking for the IV, in our color today, it will now take approximately 3 months to get it. So our sincere thanks to all of you for helping us through this process and a special thanks to Robert in west Phoenix, who helped us with specific questions, that were somewhat Phoenix specific. Thanks again,
nice to hear some dealers still do something for there customer instead of filling up there pockets con grats.
