On my drive home last I was stopped in a line of traffic at a particularly badly timed light. As I was waiting, a very large van drove up and parked near me. A very large man got out, walked around to the other side, opened the door and pulled out a very large bag and a bucket, both from KFC. I had to do a double-take, because about 200 feet ahead of me, right at the badly timed light, is the KFC. So, my question is, does driving a Prius make me skinny? No, getting out and walking down the street for my deep fried takeout dinner instead of driving does. I really don't mean to be so judgmental (or, dare i say it, smug) but it really was a classic moment.
I'm equally disgusted that he was buying KFC because of the horrid conditions factory raised chickens are kept in and the economic impact to small farmers, as well as the fact that he was that friggin lazy...
On the way down south last winter we stopped at a motel fairly late, and there was a sign on the locked door of the lobby to use the phone outside and call this number... which we did, were told "hold on" and the desk lady fired up a minivan to drive ACROSS THE PARKING LOT to deal with us. I was floored. . _H*
I suppose he wasn't picking it up on the way home from work. I'm not defending him, but I've stopped to get food on the way home from work and then drove home (on EV mode).
Oh, I SO prefer Mrs. Knott's chicken dinner over a nasty place like KFC any day. Complete with a slice of blackberry pie for dessert, yum yum!! It's worth the (15 minute) drive and then some!!
I also speculated that he stopped there on his way home from work, but I think the story is funnier without giving him so much credit Even so, stopping your van and starting up again probably wastes a bit of fuel, and he missed out on a chance for a little bit of exercise. That motel story amazed me hobbit!
