This is mainly for signatures but I'm guessing it wont work in forum posts either. I just found this out today! Here is what I'm talking about. Take a picture like the one in my signature. Then wrap a link around it so when someone clicks on the picture it goes to the web page. This is what it should look like. [EDIT] wrapping the code with the "code tag" does not work! HTML: [URL="http://www.cleanmpg.com/index.php?page=garage&displayunits=MPG(US)&viewcar=273"][IMG]http://www.cleanmpg.com/garage/images/his273.png[/IMG][/URL] This is the code with the link to my cars MPG database. Click on the image to see what it does. See it just takes you to a picture of the same banner. I think I know whats going on here. I think it has something to do with that picture pop up thing this site uses now when viewing pictures but I'm not certain on that.
I've noticed the same thing. I tried to "correct" it by re-writing my signature with the same wrap-around I had used in the past. It wouldn't take. The URL wrap just wasn't accepted!
Sorry about that - there is a new BBCODE that allows you to still link your images to something. There should be a little image that looks like this - use it instead of the button.
If you don't like it and want to try something else, you can change it in your User CP under "Edit Options", then look under " Thread Display Options" for The Image Resizer. You can play around with the settings to your heart's content in there.
Danny, Will this work for the links to GreenHybrid in signatures -- the images that automatically update?
Thanks Danny. I figured it out. I'll take a look at the display options to see what can be done. For those that want to know you first have to wrap the image URL in the IMGLINK then wrap that with the URL of the page you want to link to. Here is what the code should look like. HTML: [URL="http://www.cleanmpg.com/index.php?page=garage&displayunits=MPG(US)&viewcar=273"][IMGLINK]http://www.cleanmpg.com/garage/images/his273.png[/IMGLINK][/URL]
I appreciate the guidance, and I'm hoping it will work. I'm assuming you haven't made the changes yet to your signature, though, because I am not getting a link to CleanMPG from your signature.
