My fiancee took this picture a week or two ago of a Hummer that didn't quite make it to the pump before running out of gas. Enjoy. [attachmentid=6509]

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ALoLA @ Feb 8 2007, 11:46 PM) </div> Hot damn, I would have LOVED to circle that bad boy whith the Prius while they were pushing it. then I might have helped them push, just to make them feel worse. ha ha ha
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rest @ Feb 9 2007, 04:06 AM) </div> Between the two, I'd rather push an Insight. Besides, when the Insight gas pump icon appears, you have at least two gallons (100+ miles) to make it to a gas station.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rangerdavid @ Feb 9 2007, 07:22 PM) </div> REAL men aren't scared a hernias... hey, maybe that can be Hummer's new ad campaign: "Anybody can push one of those foreign eco-cars, but it takes a REAL man to push a 3 ton Hummer!"
Why is a Hummer running out of gas at the station funnier than a Prius running out of gas (and usually far away from a station)? I don't recall any laughing at the members who ran their tanks dry. Maybe the Hummer has a "guess gauge" too.
Just suppose the H2 gives a two-gallon warning and it's on I10 in the middle of nowhere between El Paso and Phoenix. At 80mph, that's probably only 15 miles to find a station!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rest @ Feb 9 2007, 05:06 AM) </div> That's understandable, since you probably forgot where the gas station is between fill-ups.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Delta Flyer @ Feb 9 2007, 04:36 PM) </div> Actually the Insight doesn't have an icon, it has a low fuel light. When that comes on you can go about 50 miles.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JimN @ Feb 9 2007, 09:13 PM) </div> of COURSE it's funnier Jim, because like folks are saying ... you can't push a hummer up the driveway aprin, but one person CAN push a prius quite a bit of distance ... and then there's a potential you may also even get an extra mile or so off the batteries! I like what the op said though, "real men aint a scared of no hernias"
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JimN @ Feb 9 2007, 05:13 PM) </div> I think that there is a bit of passive-aggressive hostility towards those who drive the most un-green cars by those who drive the very-green cars. I would consider myself guilty of this. When the messed-up kid in Los Angeles went with hooligans on a spree vandalizing huge SUVs at dealerships a couple years ago I couldn't help feeling that although what he did was wrong, it was great publicity for the existence of people who are opposed to the consequences of the Hummer Lifestyle.
