I just bought a 2010 Prius with all the bells and whistles. (22,000 miles)
The dealership talked me into the extended warranty and after doing much research decided to cancel it. (2195.00).
I have seen on different websites, the warranty being offered for as low as 1200.00
Any feedback on this would be much appreciated and very helpful and any recommendations
on a particular website to maybe buy the Platinum extended warranty.

You can get a good deal for an extended here on prius chat just search
Look carefully at what's not covered, look again, you wonder what is covered.

There are many people here with over 100,000 miles and ZERO issues. The battery and Hybrid system is covered up to 100,000 miles by the factory warranty. Do not waste your money.

It used to be that people could argue with some reasonableness (if not average profitability) that even though expensive repair are really rare, they are too expensive to leave uninsured. That argument is pretty much moot nowadays, given the easy availability of lightly used parts for (relatively) low prices. E.g., I imagine the price from Toyota for an inverter is not pretty, but they cost about $500 lightly used.
