I took my Prius to Toyota Maindealer today for diagonistic check with regards to the warning lights showing on the dash board. The followings are the codes that came up..P3107,C1310,C1378,C1641.Please anyone with idea on what part of the vehicle might be responsile for these error. The car runs fine except it will not run on EV only or allows the use of PARK ASSIST.Many thanks to the ROOM.This error started after taking the car for a tyre replacement and aircon check at a local tyre shop. The car was then driven by the fitter with handbrakes on.He told me he was unable to locate the handbrake and then said the light was showing before he drove the car.>
I did a quick and dirty Google Search and here are what I came up with: http://prius.ecrostech.com/GenInfo/DTCs/HVECU.htm http://priuschat.com/forums/toyota-prius-service-bulletins-tsbs/31394-ecu-diagnostic-codes.html http://priuschat.com/forums/care-ma...3-thunderstorms-prius-help-me.html#post670332 Tundra Solutions Forum - View Single Post - codes for VSC off, VSC trac, ABS lights ON http://www.hybrids.ru/PriusNHW20/rm/rm1076e/m_05_0863.pdf I couldn't find anything for the C1641. Perhaps someone else will have better luck. Keep us posted.
DTC P3107 "Lost Communication with Airbag System Control Module". This error code is logged by the hybrid vehicle ECU when it cannot communicate with the airbag ECU. DTC C1310 "Malfunction in HV System". A problem with the hybrid control system. DTC C1378 "Capacitor Communication Circuit Malfunction". A problem with the brake control power supply, the skid control ECU, or the wiring harness. DTC C1641 - Could not find this, is it possible that you have a typo with this one? I suggest you have your main dealer tech diagnose the problem, since your car is covered under warranty and these codes do not point to an obvious issue.
No logical reason for an A/C check by a tire shop, my guess is that they accidentally, or on purpose, disconnected some wiring in doing the A/C check. A 2008 should not need an A/C check by a tire/tyre shop, only dealer for that, since its under warranty.
Tire shops are the last people you want jacking with various components of this car. They can barely manage tires and alignment and you must keep constant watch on them.
Not to mention that the Prius electric A/C system design is relatively unusual, it uses unusual compressor oil, and an untrained A/C mechanic (not to mention a tire mechanic) is more likely to cause harm than benefit.
