Hey Friends Please suggest me. :car: Why we have to use winter tyres for winter season? Summer tyres can't work during winter season? Here i have found one blog which have good information but i am still confused so need your suggestions : tyrefansblog.wordpress.com
TIRES! A big part of winter tires is that they are more pliable at low temps than summer. This is also why you cannot use them during the summer; well, you can, but their tread life is extremely low (a small fraction of all season tread life).
Summer tyres do not work because the rubber compound used to make summer tyres are designed to withstand high temperatures and to provide grip at those temperatures. In the winter, the summer tyres will become hard and not as flexible which means the grooves and tread blocks cannot dig into the snow. In addition, the tread design of summer tyres are designed to expel water and not snow. Winter tyres are designed specifically for lower temperatures (And thus they cannot be used in the summer). They're of a softer compound to allow for greater flexibility and more aggressive tread designs help dig into the snow. Winter tyres fall into two categories - snow and ice. You have to decide which you're more likely to encounter (is your area a snowy place or is it a place that doesn't snow often and the snow just sits around and melts because of the heat from cars driving on the road and turn to ice?). You also have to decide whether you need studs or not installed on the winter tyres
Summer tires are too slippery for Winter. The tread pattern and the kind of rubber are not good for snow and ice. Winter tyres wear out too fast in Summer, and get too hot on the highway. In Finland, you need Winter tires. It will cost more at first to buy two sets, but they will last twice as long.
You cannot live in Finland and not use Nokian tires! They have excellent winter tires and very good summer tires!
