It has always bothered me that there is a huge spark when I go to plug in the charger; so I've been using a power strip switch. But today i found an old transient suppressor plug while rummaging thru my junk, and tried on the Enginer plug: presto no more spark ! It's a quick and cheap way to avoid the spark. I think i've seen these little suppressor cube at the 99c store even. I believe Jack's new BMS16 deals with this annoyance, but until it arrives.... Cheers, Pb
Hi Pb, The newest charger takes car of this. However the new charger can not be put into an old box without cutting and filing on the box. Your solution sounds good for the older chargers. Thanks, Dan
I didn't know there was a new charger ? what are the differences, besides size ? is it a free upgrade ? Pb
Hi Pb, No, this is not available for a free upgrade. My experience is that it is set to charge a volt higher. This means that you need the BMS16C also to protect from overcharging. The green light is on during charging and goes bright red at the end of charge. It is set to pulse the current at the end of the charge to get a better topoff. Thanks, Dan
