Well maybe we'll get another year+ long thread about: 2018 Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid review with price, power and photo gallery Using a hybrid system directly related to the 918, Porsche’s green luxury sedan delivers a total of 462 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque from a 100-kW electric motor backing a turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 gas engine. The V6 is responsible for 330 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque, while the electric motor contributes 136 hp and 295 lb-ft; the result is sprints from 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. U.S. fuel-economy ratings aren’t in yet, but the Panamera E-Hybrid gets the equivalent of 96 mpg on the Euro cycle when its EV capabilities are factored in. The “E-Hybrid” moniker curiously masks the fact this is a plug-in hybrid: 31 miles of pure electric range, at up to 86 mph, can be drawn from its 14 kWh liquid-cooled battery when fully charged. It’s unlikely buyers would choose to do so, but a standard wall outlet can charge the Panamera in 12 hours. A dedicated charging station will fill the battery in just three hours. I supposed we need an obligatory list of superlatives so here are mine: low sloping hood the better to see who you're tailgating triple bumper air inlets to cool the excessively large engine duo-retro headlights bold slash at the driver door like opened and backed up near a fixed object penta-spoke wheels for the coven gathering a middle-aged, over-weight, Porsche 911 Actually I'm sure it is a very nice, plug-in, performance car now that the 600h is no more. wow, that's got it all over the prime. guess toyota is toast. oh well, they had a nice run, just not innovating anymore.
The Panamera E-hybrid came out in 2013/2014. The 2018 might be the second generation. I think Audi, BMW, and Mercedes have had PHEVs out for a few years now too. Being power hybrids, and expensive, they don't get discussed much by people more interested in the Prius. Then most potential buyers choose Tesla.
how long and comprehensive is the warranty? otherwise, you'll need more change. *ouch, gonna get called out for trolling again. **trying to increase my words per post average as well.
Hey troll, I'll bet a warranty costs additional as well. $3,000 for red paint $5,000 for painted wheels 3,800 for leather seats 4,000 for massage seat 2,900 for lane keep assist and on and on and on... one thing i saw that I thought would be usefull - Night Vision Assist: of course, the matrix beam headlights are another $2,000 and are not true matrix in the US. And this is more words than I've posted in a long time, so I'm increasing my average as well. notice I used "as well" instead of "also". That was one extra word (and then all these to explain it...)
my brother bought a very expensive extended warranty for his mercedes, which actually paid for itself. it's almost a no brainer on her cars. *dang, there i go again.
Wait ! I thought it was ME that was the troll. (sigh). Dethroned again. Anywho - is anyone saying this is their tesla killer? Just checked its 0-60 times. 5.5 seconds. That's respectable. About the same as tesla's little 60kWh model S speed. Far cry from the 2.2 seconds their 100kWh bad boy does. For Porsche? Optimistically, for a plugin - it's a nice start. Maybe it's just because the 60 year age mark - but the Volvo SUV plugin hybrid XC90 T8 is more inspiring for yours truly. Seating up to 7 !! I DO like their seat comfort, too. Now, if they can work on that drag Cd. .
