I have a 2009 Toyota Prius with trim package 6. I purchased this vehicle from a delaer in Tampabay. I think that I have discovered a bug in the firmware controlling the multi-function display. The actions to produce the bug are: 1. Start car, but leave in park. Wait for MFD to finish booting up. 2. Press the Info button on the left side of the MFD. The information selection screen will be displayed. 3. Press the soft button labeled maintanence. Instead of the maintanence screen being displayed, the GPS map is.
I have some more information on this issue. It is apparently related to the disclaimer screen. In the US Toyota displays a disclaimer screen when accessing certain screens for the first time. OK so far no issue. However what happens is that when the disclaimer screen finishes displaying, it always shows the GPS map! I call that sloppy programming.
Yeah, sloppy programming. And darned annoying when you want to get to a setup screen or basically anything other than the map.
