Does anyone know what this plug goes to? It shows 13.83 volts when car is ready. Would like to tap it for rear USB ports in my 2009.
IF.....there is no 12 V socket nearby, my guess would be a "courtesy light", maybe inside the armrest glove box. I assume that you can't see where the wires are going ?
Nope. Saw in a post somewhere someone said there is an oscillator in the arm rest? No idea what that is for.
Not likely. The only way that would be true is if there is a 120 VAC outlet on or in the armrest. The "oscillator" would be an inverter.
'Oscillator' is what Toyota calls their smart-key system transponders, of which there are several, located various places in the car. One is beneath the center console, as I recall.
If this really is a part of the key transponder system, you probably should NOT tap into the power wire that runs it.
