Pre-emptive maintenance for a 2005

    I have a 2005 Prius with 174k miles. I don't drive it much and the previous owners didn't either, and they kept it meticulously maintained. MPGs hover around 50, down from 53 or so with new tires.

    I'm having no problems per se with the car, but realizing I have a 20 year old car (!) makes me wonder what I should be doing or looking for.
    • HV battery was replaced in 2022
    • 12V battery replaced 2 yrs ago
    • regular oil changes with synthetic
    • clean MAF sensor 1-2x/year
    • changed/serviced items per maintenance schedule - plugs, etc all been changed
    PCV valve has never been changed to my knowledge. I haven't done it as it looks challenging.
    Is there anything else I should be doing pre-emptively to keep the car going? The AC isn't very cold, but I'm sure that's just needing some refrigerant after 20 years.

    At this point, I believe you should only replace items when they start to fail. Which I believe will be plenty of parts in the next few years. Still better than buying new though!!

    The AC just needs a top up of refrigerant. Keep up the basic maintenance, nothing more you can do it make it better after 20 years.
