If you want a front row seat to a view of Mt. Saint Helens, you better bring your press pass. one of the best seats to view the vulcano is the Coldwater Lake Overlook. well for weeks they have been saying that this eruption will be nothing like the 1980 eruption... that is up until yesterday. now they are saying that the eruption will most likely be much larger than first expected and the longer it delays, the bigger it will be. apparently new data suggests that although the force of the eruption MIGHT not be as strong, the amount of ash could be similiar to 1980. they do caution that the POTENTIAL for a huge eruption is definitely there especially when considering that Mt. Saint Helens is the most active mountain in the most active mountain range in the lower 48's. the energy released from the 1980 eruption was said to be enough to provide the entire worlds complete energy needs for the next 150 years. sure does make one feel pretty insignificant in this world doesnt it??
