I filled up here in owensboro, KY this morning, and was surprised to see that the price of unleaded had dropped to $2.59/gal. I was happy to be truly empty! <_< Anyone else notice a drop in fuel prices? What's up? Peace--
Yes, it dropped here in Northern Michigan to $2.82 per gal. That's a drop of about 8 cents a gallon. Tom
Friday was the first day that it stayed the same in our area. Last weekend 3.18, Tuesday 3.23, Wednesday 3.28, Thursday 3.34. Sometimes you wish you could get gas before the next increase but I guess it is best that we just don't use so much..... If I had still had my old Sport Trac I would have spent $62 on the same distance that cost me $19.50 in the Prius..
Here near Kansas City it is 2.70 per gallon. Amazing how it dropped so quickly after the mainstream media took up the topic. Do you think Exxon, Fat Bastard (see below) and all the others got the idea that we're mad about being price gouged (I still think the price of gas is too low)? [attachmentid=3307] (Lee Raymond, ex-CEO of Exxon who just received a 400 million retirement package.)
Not here it is still going up but we voted for the "other guy" in the last election so we are still being punished. Ever notice how the gas price map looks a lot like the electorial college vote map?
Maybe they will bring back Leaded gas!!! Then I wouldn't have to buy the substitute for my 66 250 se.
Gas around here dropped about $0.02 over the course of the weekend at one station, from $3.37 to $3.35 at Chevron...stayed the same price at Arco though at $3.29, same price today as it was when I filled up on Friday.

Thanks. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(hdrygas @ May 7 2006, 06:21 PM) </div> OK, I just looked at it. Here is the link...but I think it is also elsewhere on this site (I Googled it): http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx I like how California is mostly red colored, NY orange, and Texas green. They have to keep their voting base loyal and payed off with gas. The midterm elections are almost upon us.
Gas around me here in Florida has leveled off, and even dropped a few cents at some stations. I think the cheapest I saw was still $2.95, while the same Mobil gas is selling for $3.07 at a station right along the main road. Scalping bastards!
Hmmm looking at that gas price list, last time I looked like three states had green prices (Montana, Iowa and some other who knows where state.. Idaho maybe?) now most of the middle and southeast is green, but California is still bright red!? *sigh* Well luckily I only need to fill up about once every 2-2.5 weeks, and it cost me about $25 at that, last car filled up about once a week (and it was Geo Prizm!)
