I'm definitely interested in getting a Prius but I'm stuck between 2009 or 2010. From what I heard is that the 2010 Prius is $1,000 less than the 2009 MSRP... is that right??

Also I used Edmunds to figure out how much it really cost to buy and I ended up with 2009 with NL Package #5 (that includes nav system) for $23,874 (TMV) and 2010 III with Navigation Package for $25,520 (TMV). So that's like $1,600 difference.

I've been trying to figure it out if it's cheaper to get new 2009 or go ahead and get 2010??

    Help!!! :)

It's all relative to location, stock, negotiation, etc. There have been a few threads on here of people getting some pretty sweet deals on the 2009 so it really comes down to finding a deal on a 2009 near you or deciding i the features/price of the 2010 outweigh the features/price of a 2009.

"Cheaper" is relative to the deal you can find. Personally, I went with the 2009 because I decided it was the best choice for me and I love my car!

Edmund's TMV is not accurate. I would e-mail a few local dealers and compare shopping.

There are already many threads comparing 2009 and 2010. Just pick the one that best fits your need.

    Good luck!
