has anyone bought leather for your new prius? I'm going to buy a new prius package two with dark gray color of interior. I was told by a dealer that the leather could cost 1,600 dollars. That seems very expensive. Also I don't see leather could be an option in office Toyota web site if you go to "build the car" section of Prius.

Has someone had any idea about buying leather? Does it go dirty easily without leather? Thanks a lot!!!

I have a 2010 package 2 that I liberally treated with stain repellent. I only have 2800 miles on it, but based on past experiance with fabric upholstery expect it to last a lot longer.

I have Katzkin leather upholstery on order and will be installing it myself. It starts at $750 but I ran mine up to about $1200 with options. It would be more if I had someone else install it. I have heard that it is better quality than the factory leather, but haven't seen it yet. I expect to install it by the end of October and do writeup in the appropriate Gen 3 forum.
