What happened to the accessory shop? I've never seen it open but think you could make some good money and help a lot of people by selling Prius specific stuff here. That's especially the case for diagnostic and maintenance related tools. Selling stuff that's been tried, tested, and vouched for would be a huge boon for a lot of us.
The owner no longer had the time for it. Was it profitable? No way to know. Was it helpful to people? Never heard many compliments
Thanks for responding. I don't know what he offered and at what prices but I know stuff to help maintain the cars ad decent rates would be good. Heck, these days it could just be proxy sales. As long as the more critical items are verified to be decent by the seller and/or forum members, that would be extremely helpful. Otherwise, it can be a crap shoot. As for compliments, I guess including a review/rating setup for the products would cover that.
When the owner shut it down he said something like he was tired of the complaints. Probably for the best it's shut down; there was myriad postings about stuff never arriving.
Oh, that's a shame. If the complaints were unfair then that's understandable. Since everybody, their dog, and the cat it chases does "affiliate links" these days, maybe that could fill the vacuum and net a few bucks for the owner...
Yeah it "could be" a good resource, and I think in the earlier days it was. Disclosure: I only showed up in 2010.
the owner either isn't interested in trying to make more money here, or has tried and failed. at this point, we're just fortunate when the site works.
