I have Torque set to log data every 1 second in our Prius. However, Torque shows the same data repeated five times and only has new data once every 5 seconds. The "Realtime Information" section of Torque behaves the same way. We do not have this issue in our Fusion Hybrid. The data there refreshes every second. I have the OBDII wifi scanner plugged directly in to the port. Although, the results are the same when I have it plugged in to a splitter cable with my ScanGauge plugged in to the other end. Am I logging too many parameters? In the Fusion I am logging about 20 parameters. In the Prius I am logging about 25 parameters. What's wrong?
I'm surprised that logging would slow it down but still transmit data to the ScanGauge which appears to still refresh every second. I will test with less parameters.
I reduced the number of PIDs to 14 and this time it sometimes repeated the same data for 5 or 6 seconds in a row and occasionally would change each second for 2 or 3 seconds in a row. This is quite odd...I don't know if it's the tablet since it tracks 15+ PIDs from the FFH with no issues at a refresh rate of once per second.
What baud rate did you connected with? How about with FFH? I have only logged about 5 at a time so 14 still seem fine.
In Vehicle Profile, the bottom option. I think the default is to auto detect. I manually set mine to ISO 15765-4 CAN (11bit 500k baud). There is also an option for 250k baud but that's slower. Also under OBD2 Adapter Settings, is "Faster Communication" option checked?
Thanks! I appreciate the fact that you're quick to help! The default must be "Automatic - thorough protocol scan". That's where mine was set. I will test the ISO 15765 that you mention today to see if it makes a difference. There is also one called "Automatic - fast protocol scan" which I may try at a later date. I do have "Faster Communication" checked and I checked the "Don't calculate MPG/fuel" to speed up data retrieval.
are you using a splitter for the elm and scangauge? I've read here, maybe you've seen the posts to, some plugs seem to be probelmatic.
