Hi Maybe someone can help. I know that the stock 15" wheel is 14.2 and the tire is 17lbs for a total of 31.2 lbs. if the touring ed. wheel is 16", does anyone know what it weights and total weight. and here is the ? If i get a wheel that is 15" and weights 2 lbs more total weight, in theory, if it weight less than the 16" setup, I sould get the same milleage as the touring which is the same and the standard model.. anyone
I wouldn't sweat a couple of pounds worth of weight on the wheels. It does matter, but probably not enough to make a difference. Instead it's really the tires that make the biggest difference when it comes to fuel economy. And that isn't because of weight, but because of low rolling resistance. If you move up to a stickier, more aggressive tire you will get better handling at the expense of some fuel economy.
