    Hi All,
My driver side on my Prius II 2011 smells awful like an oily smell. There seems to be some oily residues on the plastic beneath by steering and also near the brake pedal both of which smell.
The smell gets worse after I drive the car for a while indicating that there is some source of the oily residues that starts to accumulate after I drive a bit.

Can anyone tell me what these leaks could be originating from?
I happen to be highly allergic to the smell and this is driving me nuts and affecting my health. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Could it be brake fluid? The master cylinder is on the other side of the fire wall but a rod goes through and connects it to the brake pedal. Not much else that I can think of in that area to leak oil or fluid.

I think if it were mine I would take it to a dealer and have them look.

Have you checked fluid levels - that might give you an idea of where it is coming from?

Your profile shows a 2011 - I would imagine that it is still under warranty so perhaps a trip to the dealer would be in the cards. Even if you were able to diagnose the problem you would likely still need a mechanic to fix it.
