DRIVE CLEAN AND GREEN ACROSS MISSOURI

A caravan of hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles will be making its way through the state as part of “Drive Clean and Green Across Missouri,†an event sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Energy Center, St. Louis Regional Clean Cities and Kansas City Clean Cities coalitions. Designed to introduce Missourians to the latest in high-efficiency hybrid vehicles and alternative fuel vehicles, the event will kick off April 5 at the St. Louis Science Center. The goal of the caravan is to educate Missouri citizens and students on the benefits of fuel economy and use of renewable and alternative fuels in terms of saving money, reducing oil imports, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and generating more efficient technologies.

Among the vehicles included in the caravan is the hybrid Ford Escape, which is built at the company’s Kansas City plant. Other vehicles expected for the drive include the following (vehicles may be subject to change):

    • Hybrids – Chevrolet Silverado, Toyota Prius and Honda Insight

Cool!!! Thanks for posting this. Springfield is my hometown (ok, the only big town by my little town...and it is where I work). May try to run up for some of the other stuff if I'm off work any of those days.

That is noble. But remember, there is always something more important than what you're already doing. I'm not saying this is one of those things, but resist the narrow minded path of clinging to absolutes.

Anyway, too bad. I still haven't looked at my schedule. I know I have other things to do on the 4th & maybe 5th, but I don't know about the 6-8th.

we shall see... i have block scheduling. one day my last day is honors physics and the other day its walking fitness.. in physics its really important not to miss that class, but its possible to gain enough extra credit in walking fitness to keep an A. It's hard when you have to keep a 4+ gpa!

Walking fitness is a class? Is underwater basket weaving a pre-req?

I'd go see your instructor and tell him the reason you won't be in his walking class because you will be walking around the "Green" exhibits. Tell him you want credit for it. If he won't go along with that make an offer to guide the whole class and him at the exhibits. Then inform him that it's really important as walking is an alternative energy. If he won't go along with any of the above, you have my and probably Evan's authorization to skip.

nono walking fitness is the preq for underwater basket weaving, not the other way around silly. Unfortunately, i dont believe she'll agree with those excuses. I doubt we'll walk enough miles at the exhibit anyways. Maybe i'll skip if its walking fitness~ we'll see...

so for the physics class if we get the State Governor to email him/her that your presence is required at the exhibits, would that get you out of class and not loose your +4GPA?
