Cars with more battery space will perform even better. According to Prange, while conversion components and their installation would carry a full warranty from the installer, installation may void part or all of the original factory warranty - dependent on the willingness of the original manufacturer to support the concept. Prange envisions collecting a group of buyers (a "buyers club") and presenting a bulk order to an auto manufacturer such as Toyota. CalCars is working with other PHEV advocates to recruit fleet customers to make this effective, but private parties could join as well.
