    Hello all,

I was a participant on these boards way back when I purchased my Gen II 2004 Package 9 (circa Nov 2003). Now that my Prius is approaching 180,000, I'm starting to wonder if I should trade it in for the base-model Plug In since there are decent incentives going on -- $2,000 financing cash and 0% 5yr financing through Toyota, and it's about time to register/inspect the Prius I have now, and it probably needs at least a rear break job, so it's a good time to decide.

I went in to my local dealer telling them that I was interested in getting a trade-in quote, expecting to get maybe about 3-4k. Salesman was nice, gave me keys to drive one of the ones in their lot for a bit -- actually the same salesman who sold me the 2004, ha.

On the notes my salesman initially showed me, they were giving me $500 off MSRP, and $3k for a trade-in... quite low. He mentioned if there was a specific number I'd be interested in, (I didn't give any numbers offhand) and later when I met and talked briefly with the business manager, I threw in a figure of $25k, expecting them to tell me to pound sand. (Their number was 27.5k or so)

Well, turns out that he was ready to make me a deal then and there... they have a few cars sitting in their lot and by the looks of it a lot of people want the lower priced Prius versions, which is of course no surprise.

The 25k figure means that I would be getting about KBB value for my prius trade in (~$4k) and roughly $1500 off MSRP Anyway, here's the breakdown:

    33000 ticket (delivery fee/etc included)
    -2000 financing cash incentive
    -4000 tradein
    -1500 off MSRP
~25.5k (rough number, really it's $25,000 to be financed, because they won't include thae $395 fee in the financing, but maybe I could get them down further to $25k even)

Does this sound like a good offer? No sales tax in my state (NH), so that effectively makes a $2k off MSRP from a MA dealer a non-issue.

Comments appreciated. :) My only thoughts so far is come in mid week and see if they'll throw in an extra key or (at least) all-weather floormats.
