I just wanted to share this. For all you young owners out there, please forgive this old man, but this car just cracked me up...made me ROFL!!! although I'm sure it's owner loves it as much as I do mine. I just have a really hard time with the concept of a racing Prius .
WOW. Looks like I will have to kick it up a notch for Hybridfest next year. The spoiler was a bit tooooooooo much.
I got excited for a moment; I've been trying to find a modified Prius for sale for a long time. But there's just something that turns me off about this particular car. I think it's overdone. I don't like the huge spoiler and hood and what is on the rear bumper?? Love the rims though. A Prius race car is not an oxymoron. It's uncommon, but when modified moderately and with quality components, it can look quite nice and better than the original. Unfortunately, I'll admit that the one you've found is a bit repulsive.
I've seen plenty of modified Priuses and most have been tastefully modified. There's only one word for this - RICE.
That is not a race car. It is a custom. This is a race car: And quite appropriate for its function: sports car rallies, economy runs, etc.
That ebay car is crap. THIS is a race car: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-prius-main-forum/16285-prius-scca-solo-ii-fsp.html
Its an impact protector. Its not exactly the same as this one but: Stop Rear End Collision Damage ? SUPERBUMPER Hitch Step - Withstand any rear impact I hate to say I like the color, the black trim (protectors) and the chrome. The 'knight' writing, reflectors and spoiler are ugly.
Owned by someone who throws their money away. Thousands on add-ons and it's worth less than the original. Trailer hitch with wiring? What for?
