Can anyone recommend a honest non-Toyota service mechanic for my Prius in the City of Chicago? I live in the South Loop. I would like to use high end oil and filters for the car without the $90.00 hourly service fee. I would also like a mechanic who understands the Prius and its owners attention to the bigger picture like conservation and the smaller picture, best tires to us, what really needs to be done, at what intervals, and without the restrictions of the Toyota service department. Also, I am interested in adding optional features like 3 M invisible bras, mudflaps, etc. This mechanic would be willing to do this work at a reasonable price while the cutomer brings in the optional pieces. Is this asking too much? I used to do my own oil changes but I cannot anymore because I live in a condo otherwise I would do the small stuff myself. Honest mechanic...honest...honest ....honest!
