My daily commute takes me through a short ~2 mile road through a national park that's completely surrounded by forest. Often, traffic backs up into this forest due to a goofy merge of two roads into one at the end of the forest. Before the Prius, I kept my windows up, A/C on, and radio on to entertain me. But now that I can creep through electrically, I can actually hear the birds; the wind through the leaves; the water babbling in the streams. And although there are lines of cars in front of me and behind me, I don't really hear them out the sides of the car into the forest. Although I make it through the backup in 10 minutes or so, it's a welcome moment of silence before a hectic day. Ahhhhhhh.....
Totally true. Since the cabin is quieter, I wonder if that makes us notice more rattle sounds while driving?
How about the voices in your head? If you ever migrate to a pure EV or a PHEV w/more range, you'll get to enjoy even more of it.
Hey, I think he is already enjoying in the 100% Ev mode with ICE shut down. All Prius is quiet inside.
It's so true -- this is the only car I've ever driven that actually decreased my stress level, even when in traffic. And I *love* driving shortly after nightfall so I can hear all the animals and birds that are rustling at that time...
